Trader - Charles De Lint

Just finished reading Trader and was very impressed. Although the reviews on Amazon were mixed, fortunately I decided to try it for myself. What I do see is literature that is finally moving toward contemporary themes. Although the concepts are nothing really over the top, the tone and emotion reflect today’s society and show that stories don’t need fast action and complex plots to be entertaining. My first thought when I started reading this tale was of Kafka’s “Metamorphosis”, and perhaps that thought stayed with me through perhaps half the book. Having spent a lot of time with “creative types” such as artists and musicians, I may have enjoyed this book more than people who can only guess what the actual artist is like.

This book is up for grabs if anyone is interested.
